Health Insurance For Women in the United States – Points to Note and Insights

Are there provisions for women in health insurance in the United States? From calculated observations, the answer to this question will be yes and this was confirmed by the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) who conducted the research on medical services and insurance on women.

From their report, they indicated that health care is not gender neutral and stated the importance of the availability of good medical care services for both men and women. It is true that women have special health cover needs at special times. For example, when pregnant, a woman can develop a higher possibility of getting sick from a chronic illness that may need immediate treatment. Women are also more exposed to dangers from diseases such as lupus (an autoimmune disease), rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis etc.
